Hunter S. Thompson Retrospective Newspaper
A publication designed for my graduate typography class focused around the life, experiences and writings of the legendary Hunter S. Thompson, in these series of articles; the wisdom distilled in his breadth of writing of over 40 years still rings true, if not truer today. The newspaper, The Owl Farm, named after Hunter's nickname for his colorado ranch, it was a place of experimentation, heavy drug use, illegal firearms, celebrity friends crashing on the couch, late nights, and prolific writing. The newspaper takes a serious look at the breadth of his work, ending in a eulogy and attempts to distance itself from the gonzo and character aspects of his life, which so often overshadow his works and contributions to journalism.
